What age is the play area suitable for?

Playmania is suitable for children up to the age of around 11 years old, although there is a height restriction of 1.4m (4ft 6).

Do you have a separate toddler play area?

Yes, we have an under 3’s,  2 tier play frame and an over 3’s, 3 tier play frame, with lots of fun soft and imaginative play for all ages and abilities.

Can I go into the play area with my children?

Yes, feel free to whiz down the 4 lane astra slide and show the kids how it’s done!

Can you book a play session?

To guarantee entry please book in advance either via facebook by clicking the start order, or via the website by clicking the book now button or call us on 01226 744344.

How long do I get to play?

You are guaranteed 1hr 45 minutes of fun time to play, however we only enforce this in busy periods.

Can I pay to stay longer?

There is no need, we don’t enforce the time limit unless we are busy, or restricted by COVID regs. Under normal circumstances you can come in and play for as long as you most weekdays in term time.

Is there a cafe in PlayMania?

Yes, we have a lovely café area serving suberb home cooked food and a lovely selection of hot drinks, frothy coffee’s and skinny lattes. We have a great choice of healthy and gluten free options as well as scrummy daily specials.

Do you have free Wi-Fi?

Yes, please see a member of staff when you arrive and they will be happy to help.

What else is there to do at Elsecar Heritage Centre?

The Heritage Centre is a fabulous place to spend the day. Visitors to the Centre will find a variety of individual craft workshops, artist studios, antique centres, café, historical steam railway, and houses the famous Newcomen Beam Engine built in 1795. The Centre is a unique family attraction with a nearby park, canal side walks and access to the Trans Pennine Trail.

Do I need to arrive early for my Party?

Feel free to arrive for your party 5 to 10 minutes before the party start time. As your party guests arrive we will ask them to take a seat in the reception area until the birthday boy/girl arrives, at which point you will be greeted by your party host who will accompany you and your guests to your reserved party tables.

Will the family and friends have somewhere to sit at our party?

As a general guide each party will have 4 tables reserved for the party family and their guests. If you have any special requirements please ask a member of staff.

Do we need to wear socks?

Yes please for hygiene and safety reasons. Don’t worry if you forget, we have plenty of clean spare pairs or brand new ones to purchase for £1.

Is there a cash machine on site?

Unfortunately not, the closest facility is at The Premier Store on Cobcar Lane, S74 8AR

Do you accept card payments?

Yes we do, any amounts of £5 or over.

Can we just come in and use the café or buy an ice cream?

Of course you can, pop in any time for a hot cup of tea and a homemade slice of cake.

Can we bring in our own food and drinks?

We politely ask that you don’t. We sell a whole range of food and drink including baby food, soya free, diary free and gluten free meals and snacks.

Can we take photo's while we are playing?

Yes as long as they are only of your own children, please upload your favourites to our Facebook page.

Can I leave my children?

No unfortunately not, our staff are unable to supervise any children.

Is there anywhere to park?

Yes, we have an ample FREE car park.

Do you sell nappies?

Yes we have a selection for sale.

Can I breast feed?

Yes of course you can, any where you feel comfortable is fine. If you would like some privacy please speak to a member of staff.

Are you able to warm up babies food?

Yes of course we can, just ask a member of staff when purchasing it.
